A close game throughout with neither team possessing larger than a five point lead, Charlie Brown’s 3-pointer from the left corner with two minutes left opened a 58-53 lead for the Eagles. Joplin connected 12 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Brown scored 12 of his 15 in second half; Washington scored 15 of his 22 in the second half.

Luka Nikacevic block and steal with 1:20 left led to Jagos Matizasevic’s layup with a minute left that gave Word of Life its first lead of the second half 66-65.
Antoine William connected on a pair of free throws with :37 seconds left to put Sumner back in front and Dominique Helgemo’s free throws with :17 seconds left gave the Bulldogs a three-point lead.
Milos Bozovic missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to move the Bulldogs into Friday’s semifinals.

After spending two hours Friday afternoon performing community service in the Joplin damage zone, Webster Groves showed no signs of fatigue jumping out to a 16 point lead early thanks to 20 combined first quarter points from Simmons, Robinson and Fairbanks.
Simmons a 6-foot-4 senior point guard, scored 12 of his game-high 22 in the first half as the Statesman drained all four of their 3-pointers in the first half.
Robinson, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, added 14 points.
Brown, a 6-foot sophomore point guard and like Simmons, a returning all-tournament performer from last year, led the Eagles with 13 points.
Webster Groves advances to the championship game of the Kaminsky for the sixth time in seven tournament appearances.

Dominique Helgemo, a 5-foot-10 senior guard for Sumner, scored 13 of his 20 in the third quarter including a 3 before the buzzer to pull the Bulldogs within 10, 43-33.
Memorial, in its second Kaminsky Classic, is making its first appearance in the tournament championship.

Peter Fairbanks, Webster Groves 6-foot-6 senior forward set to pitch for Missouri next season, and Tulsa Memorial’s Anthony White, a 6-foot-2 junior point guard who ranks amongst the best guards in Oklahoma for the class of 2013, held their own 3-point contest early in the game as Fairbanks connected on his first four shots from behind the 3-point line and had five total 3’s in the first half to account for 15 of his 20 points.
White drilled three treys in the first quarter and added another deep 3 late in the fourth quarter to account for 12 of his game-high 23 points.
R.J. Diggs added 13 points for the Chargers.
The Statesman got 15 points each from Rayshawn Simmons, a 6-foot-4 senior point guard, and 6-foot-4 forward Demetrius Robinson who capped seventh Kaminsky Classic championship for the Statesman with a one-handed tomahawk slam.

Dominique Helgelmo, 5-foot-10 senior guard, St. Louis Sumner, averaged 17.6 ppg in the tournament.
Charlie Bown, 6-foot sophomore guard, Joplin, averaged 13.6 ppg in the tournament and earned his second all-tournament mention.
Anthony White, 6-foot-2 junior guard, Tulsa Memorial, averaged 19.3 ppg in the tournament.
R.J. Diggs, 6-foot sophomore, Tulsa Memorial, averaged 14.6 ppg in the tournament.
Rayshawn Simmons, 6-foot-4 senior guard, averaged 13.0 ppg in the tournament, and earned his second all-tournament mention.
Peter Fairbanks, 6-foot-6 senior guard, averaged 15.0 ppg in the tournament.
