Shaun Buck

Shaun was born and raised in Joplin, Mo. where he attended Joplin High School graduating in 1997. Buck then attended Missouri Southern State University completing his degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations in 2011. He went on to get his Masters Degree in Education Administration/Athletics & Activities Administration from William Woods University in 2013.

Buck worked as a corporate bar trainer for Rib Crib Restaurants from 2004-2010 before returning to Southern to finish his degree. After graduation he was hired as the assistant Sports Information Director/Assitant Athletics Media Relations Director (2011-2017) where he was in charge of promotion and statistics for Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Men's Golf. Buck was also the Public Address voice of the Missouri Southern Volleyball program during his tenure at the University. After the completion of the 2016-17 school year, Buck took at job at NCAA D-III Southwestern University before returning home to attend to family matters. 

In June of 2018, Shaun was hired to be the new Events/Media Relations Director for Joplin Sports Authority. Buck has been instrumental in bringing Collegiate National Championships in Joplin since 2018, being a part of the bidding process for NJCAA Men's Golf Division II National Championship, NCCAA DII Men's & Women's Basketball National Championships, NCCAA DI & DII Cross Country National Championships, NCCAA DII Women's Volleyball National Championships. Buck is also overseeing the transition to the JSA's new Sidearm website. 

Buck lives in Joplin with his three fur babies (Bella, Theodore, and Rowdy).
