Steve Taylor was born and raised in Diamond, Mo. where he was a 1968 graduate of Joplin High School. Taylor then attended Missouri Southern State University graduating with a degree in General Business/Accounting. Taylor then went on to work for Southern for 32 years in the Business Office, Bookstore, and Athletics before retiring in 2008.
Steve started working for Joplin Sports Authority in 2009 at the Finance Director under former MSSU Athletic Director Jim Frazier.
Steve and wife Missy have been married for 34 years and have two kids Justin and Stephanie and three grandkids.
Taylor enjoys coaching youth soccer in the Joplin Parks and Rec program and spending time with the grandkids whenever possible.
